Collected Quotes from Albert Einstein

* "Imagination is more important than knowledge."

* "Gravitation is not responsible for people falling in love."

* "I want to know God’s thoughts; the rest are details."

Embarrassing as it is to admit, I am an American Idol,Singapore Idol fan. A friend just forwarded me a link to the original British version, "Britain’s Got Talent," of a guy named Paul Potts—the storyline here is pretty cool. Take a look

Despite it all

Filed under: chya: pala:

Despite the place,
That I’m now in,
This corner of my life,
That tells where I’ve been…

Despite the set backs,
That I face,
Or of the tears,
That leave a trace…

Despite the time,
That distance brings,
Or life’s little quirks,
And all other things…

Despite that fact,
That I still live,
Memories of a past,
I can’t forgive…

Despite the rains,
That flood the trail,
Despite life’s winds,
A force of gale…

Despite the moon,
Laying hidden behind,
The tracks I time,
Within my mind…

Despite harsh words,
Whispered aloud,
Or of the sun,
Behind the clouds…

Despite the way,
Life comes about,
My love for you,
There is no doubt…

we live together in a home away from home like a family away from family.

time moving faster than I

things are really moving fast. at least faster than i thought. few of my friends got married and few are in preparation. i wonder if its a dream. i checked one of my friend’s profile at hi5 and noticed that her marital status was ‘married’, later i talked with another friend and she cofirmed me that she had a first baby. another friend of mine who is studying medicine in UK got married last  month too. he is now visiting his and wife’s family member in nepal. man, is something wrong with me? are people moving faster than me? when it comes to give a thought in this kind of things i am clueless. whatsoever it is, all i can do is to wish them all happy married life. wish they all will have an eternal marriage. cheers!

I should…

1) stop talking about work
2) stop talking about work because it bores people
3) stop talking about work because some people find it boastful
4) decide soon if I should cut my hair
5) make my presence felt a lil bit more
6) understand but I don’t
7) sleep.

quit smoking

thurday night, not that busy in restuarant. i mean to say that not as in weekends. i have seen that long queues in NewYorkNewyork @ city link, sakae sushi, and couple of other outlets. when i have to compare the length of the queue i guess the longest would be in Marche @vivocity. get prepared for tomorrow but happy for today in a employee’s point of view.

i had little communication gap today with one of management trainee staff-sandy, she actually didn’t called my name for break she had allocated and she told that rest of staff will go for break at 7pm so i was waiting for my turn to go. but my malay colleagues who was breaking her fast at 7 also when for break and i was also out for break at almost same time.which made sandy a touch difficult to manage the manpower. i completely forgot that malay were fasting today and the break at that peak period wa only for them.

jus a thought

exhausted with this long hour work. not really used to with this as it has been long time almost four months of gap that i was in holidays. i am happy to be a team member of Marche Restaurants, a brand of movenpick groups.

during my attachment i had many chinese colleagues, this time i am having many Malay colleagues.  once i thought it would be really plus point to learn chinese while working in singapore but at this point of time i am feeling that i need to be trilanguish.both mandrine and malay and of course english. there are 6 trainees from indonesia (bali) which added atmosphere to speak malay to other colleauges. i admire the spirit they carry with them to learn and the humbleness they carry.

i  see the expression on my balinese colleaues whenever our singapore colleagues use f-words and other usual but unsual conversation infront of them. i wonder if this is part of learning curriculum or are germinating wrong culture on to them. but in other hand that is so usual in service sector that every outlet has that kind of environment where manager uses such words to staffs and among staffs senior abuses to junior. wondering junior use to whom? use on brain or onto themself. how difficult is to have decent, dirty words free working environment? i understand there is no point taking those words in ones’ heart but those who are around us while using that kind of words do they feel the same way like us? i don’t think so. while i was a trainee in Conrad i had friends who always complain about the abusive words that managers used on them and other casual labours but gradually she said its ok. "i am fine, i am use to with this." if we don’t take action on time or take for granted then it becomes a habit and it becomes a part.after that it becomes a culture. it neccessary to have a additional quality to work in service sector that one should be able to use such words and stand still if some one uses such words on u. but how many of us are aware about germinating such culture among us?

one of discouraging incident that happen to me was yesterday. i was working in bar together with one of colleagues. she prepared a wrong drink for a guest and has to do that again. i offered her help. she was kind of pissed off. so she saidf@#$ ….. she didn’t even realise there were other guest. not very near but i am pretty sure that they could hear her. i suppose this is what the result for the culture i am talking about. i know for sure that to service related personel would predict what those it means? wht the concequences for such incidents?

well these are some of thoughts i had.

cheers! gud nite.
